Over the summer recess BECT has been working with local students from the University of South Wales, below is a brief note from the Senior Work Placement Partner.
We are delighted to announce that BECT have been awarded the enabling work to open up the landmark Howells building in the centre of Cardiff.
This early phase will involve the demolition of a section of the store linking stand-alone buildings which will lead to the full scheme seeing the opening up of the 19th century Bethany Chapel sat in the heart of a new pedestrian area.
The chapel while pre-dating the site, was fully consumed within the fabric of the 270,000 sq ft plus building located on a 1.7 acre site - in the 1970s.
The redevelopment will introduce leisure, food and beverage accommodation, and office space to the historic site.
The scheme will undertaken for new client Naissance Capital Real Estate, who acquired the investment in 2016. The client consultant team includes Gleeds Project Management, Rio Architects and WSP.
