“2024 represented another solid financial performance in line with the business aspirations, despite the industry facing several unprecedented challenges. Throughout the year we maintained our commitment to deliver a high-quality service with a key focus on fostering long-term client relationships and securing repeat business. To support these objectives, we implemented a range of operational and commercial improvements, enhancing efficiency through the adoption of advanced IT applications and streamlined business processes.”
Nathan Holmes, Financial Director
Despite the ongoing challenges in the UK construction industry, BECT achieved an overall turnover of £45.787m. Although this represented a decrease in turnover from the previous year, it was in line with projections and our long-term strategic objectives. Operating profit and profit before taxation were in line with the business plan, producing a result of:
Operating profit before exceptional items: £2.786m (6.08%)
Profit before taxation: £1.299m (2.84%)
The business plan for 2025 aims to achieve an overall turnover of £60 million and maintain operating profit and profit before taxation at levels consistent with those in previous financial years. With a strong order book at the start of the 2025 financial year and several projects under Pre-Construction Services Agreements, we are well-positioned to meet our medium-term business objectives.
